WHO IS TAPPY?
One of the first companions Eric encounters after waking in Nigel's scrapyard. Tappy is part of the search for Nigel and for an explanation of the strange fragments left behind by the previous night.
THE TAPEWORM
TAPPY
Remembers the feeling. The details are another matter.
Tappy is a tapeworm who wakes in the High Scraparral alongside Eric. He was asleep nearby when Eric first came round, and he has no complete account of the night before either.
WHAT HE REMEMBERS
Music. Lights. People. Somewhere indoors. Tappy remembers the feeling more clearly than the place. As the clues build, he recognises the Warehouse in Manchester — and the year 1994.
HOW HE COMES ACROSS
Sleepy and half-lidded, Tappy takes a moment before answering. So far, he comes across as thoughtful, quietly sceptical and dryly funny. He often gives Eric a fragment rather than a complete explanation.
IN THE STORY
Tappy travels with Eric from the scrapyard into Manchester, following the clues to the missing night. He notices when places and sounds seem familiar to Eric, even when neither of them can quite explain why.
STILL TO BE DISCOVERED
How much of the night does Tappy remember? What else has he noticed? We’ll let the story answer those questions rather than fill in the gaps too early.
